Weekend and A Monday

Saturday, July 3, 2010, was my grandparents' Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebration. In the morning, I went with my mom to Sta. Barbara to pick up my grandparents, my aunt, and four of my cousins to bring them to The Grand Dame Hotel. After bringing them there, mom and I had lunch at JD Bakeshop and went home. I slept until 2:30pm to pass the time. Turns out, sleeping wasn't a very good idea because we were a bit late, considering we were part of the immediate family. After dressing up, we picked up my aunt and cousins at the hotel and went off to the Assumption-Iloilo Chapel where the mass was held. When we got there, I felt very different from my cousins. This was because I was the only one NOT wearing gold. Oh well. My cousins and I were the choir of the celebration. After the mass, we proceeded to Roadhouse where the reception was held at the Emilion function room. We had fun there, taking lots of pictures in the process. My favorite part was when the family video was presented. It made me laugh very hard seeing my cousins and my aunts look as if they were in another time. After the reception, my cousins said they were gonna go to Smallville to celebrate further. I petitioned against it but I was overruled. Everybody left except me because I was against that kind of "partying". Although, I ended up going but I didn't party with them. I stayed with my aunts and my parents who just drank coffee at Kopiroti.
Sunday, July 4, 2010, my cousins met with my sister and I at the port where we were gonna ride a banca going to Guimaras. At first, we went to the wrong port but luckily, we were able to transfer just in time. The banca ride was fascinating. I loved how the Iloilo-Guimaras strait looked, with all its vivid colors and smooth waves. We reached the port and rode a jeepney to El Retiro Beach Resort. Although, one of my aunts stayed behind and rode a banca back to Iloilo because she left her bag in the port. As we reached the resort, we immediately checked it out. We chose our beds in the big house and two of my guy cousins swam in the beach because they were absolutely excited. Some of us just stayed in the rooms and some played a game of sungka. After lunch, everyone swam because it was low tide so we were able to reach a very far distance from the shore. We went back and forth to the beach and the pool because we were very conscious with our skin tones. Late afternoon, some of my cousins stayed near the beach where they played in the sand with our two-year-old cousin. I, among others, took a nap. After dinner, my cousins and I went to the end of the beach to hunt for ghosts. We were so scared that we decided not to push further our plan. So we ran back near the shore of the beach resort where we digged up holes and drew in the sand. After this, we went to the pool and took a dip. Although, after a while, we got so scared that we ran back to the rooms and took a bath. We went back near the shore after this and one by one, we went back to the house and slept.
Monday, July, 5, 2010, we swam for a while in the pool and we visited Roca Encantada, which was a huge house at the end of the shore. We went back and swam again and some of us dressed up and packed up to ride a banca back to Iloilo at noon. Among these were my sister and I because she had to go back to Manila in the afternoon.
All in all, it was a fun and wonderful experience. Now, all of my cousins went away. Some to Canada, some to USA, and some to Manila. I miss them all. ♥
